The Ajenza Online Harmonium is a free virtual harmonium (peti) that plays entirely in your web browser — no app, no sign-up and no downloads. Every key is a continuous reed voice, synthesized live with the Web Audio API from three gently detuned reeds whose slow beating gives the instrument its warmth. Press a key and the note holds at full strength for as long as you like — like the bellows keeping air over the reed — then fades softly when you let go. Switch on Hold (sustain) and each key you tap latches on, so you can build a continuous drone or a full chord hands-free, and add the Sa–Pa sruti drone underneath. Set your Sa to see sargam labels — Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Dha Ni — on every key, shift octaves, and shape the reed's brightness with the tone control. Play by clicking, tapping, or using your computer keyboard.
Pairs naturally with the shruti box, tanpura and tabla for a full riyaz setup. Learn scales with the raga player or the Carnatic ragas player.

How does the note hold like a real harmonium?
Each key is a sustained reed voice — three slightly detuned reeds through a warm filter. The note stays at full volume for as long as the key is pressed, just like the bellows keeping air over the reed, and releases softly when you let go.
Can I hold a drone or chord without keeping my finger down?
Yes. Turn on Hold (sustain) and every key you tap latches on and keeps sounding until you tap it again. You can also switch on the Sa–Pa sruti drone.
How do I play with my computer keyboard?
White keys are A S D F G H J K and black keys are W E T Y U for the middle octave. Hold to sustain; Z and X shift the octave.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Sound is generated in the browser with the Web Audio API — nothing to install and no permissions required.
