The Ajenza Online Mridangam is a free virtual mridangam — the main percussion of South-Indian (Carnatic) classical music — that plays entirely in your web browser, with no app, no sign-up and no downloads. Every stroke is synthesized live with the Web Audio API. The barrel has two heads: the thoppi (the bass head, left hand) and the valantalai (the tuned treble head, right hand). How is it different from the tabla?
The mridangam is the Carnatic (South-Indian) barrel drum with a bass and a tuned treble head; the tabla is the Hindustani (North-Indian) pair. Different strokes, different rhythmic systems.
Can I tune it and loop a tala?
